Groups & Workshops

Groups

Groups provide ongoing therapy on select topics. Groups can be educational-therapeutic (psychoeducational) and last 8-weeks in length, or behviourally-based and last up to 10 months. Generally, groups meet once per week for 2-hours. The fee for groups is $40 per person per 2-hour group, plus GST.

Dr. Sex gladly accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Interac and cash.

At the present time, Dr. Sex offers the following groups:

  • Persons in conflict with the law over their sexual behaviour
  • Family members/spouses of persons in conflict with the law over their sexual behaviour.

All groups are based upon sexological counselling techniques and operate from a sex positive framework. This means that sex is regarded as good and good for you, and that sex and sexuality are a fundamental part of who we are as people. Nothing is considered "deviant" in and of itself, and mutual respect and consent are cornerstones of treatment.

Dr. Sex is certified to conduct Risk Assessments for persons charged with sexually based crimes.

Workshops

Workshops are a way to introduce people to a subject. Dr. Sex will provide you with high level information and techniques that you then apply on your own. Attendance is limited so participants get the most from their experience.

Workshops are 90-minutes in length and cost $67 plus GST. Dr. Sex gladly accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Interac and cash.

Currently, Dr. Sex offers the following workshops:

  • Having pain-free sex
  • Coping with sex and menopause
  • Sex and chronic illness, pain or cancer
  • Sex education for children.
